Industrial sensor development and manufacturing since 1987
Since 1987, we have been dedicated to designing and manufacturing advanced sensor solutions that meet the highest standards of accuracy and stability. From our facility in The Netherlands, we support machine builders, system integrators and distributors worldwide with standard, configurable and application-specific sensors.
We work together with:

Our expertise in industrial sensor technology
DIS Sensors develops and manufactures high-quality industrial sensors for inclination, acceleration and rotary position measurement from our facility in the Netherlands. Our portfolio includes proven standard products as well as configurable and customized sensor solutions for demanding industrial applications.
Through our worldwide network of trusted distributors, customers benefit from local sales and technical support.
Our sensor portfolio includes:
- Inclination sensors
- Acceleration sensors
- Tilt switches
- Rotary encoders
Customized sensor solutions
Depending on the product and technical requirements, we can support customers with customized measurement ranges, output signals, filtering, connectors, cable lengths, mounting options and factory programming.
Because development, testing and production take place in-house, we can respond flexibly to specific application requirements.
ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management
DIS Sensors is certified according to ISO 9001:2015, the international standard for quality management.
Our quality management system is periodically audited and certified by Bureau Veritas.
Almost four decades of sensor innovation
Since 1987, DIS Sensors has grown from a pioneering sensor developer into an international manufacturer of industrial sensor solutions. Explore some of the milestones in our history:
1987
The start of DIS Sensors
G.J. de Wit develops the idea for a flat and compact inductive proximity switch, the QUADRO PROX. Together with Rob Wieske, he establishes DeWit Industrial Sensors in Amersfoort.
1988
International debut at Hannover Messe
DIS Sensors presents its products at Hannover Messe for the first time. The exhibition proves successful and generates strong international interest.
1991
First in-house SMT production
DIS Sensors invests in its first in-house SMT pick-and-place machine, with a production capacity of 1,000 components per hour.
1999
A long-running customized sensor solution
DIS develops the customized RADA 900 EKA shower sensor for Kohler. The product remains in production for more than 23 years.
2000
ISO quality certification
The DIS quality management system receives its first ISO 9000 certification, establishing a structured foundation for consistent quality and continuous improvement.
2006
Launch of the QG sensor range
Introduction of the QG30 and QG40 inclination and accelaration sensors.
2008
First QG65 CANopen inclinometer
DIS develops the QG65 inclination sensor for demanding mobile machinery applications.

Industries and applications we support
We bring reliable solutions to our customers in several sectors. Thanks to our knowledge and experience we’ve become specialized in these fields:
Handling and Lifting equipment
When it comes to handling and lifting, for example in the logistics or utility sectors, control over the machinery is crucial. By monitoring angles and detecting unsafe conditions, our sensors play a vital role in safety and efficiency in your automation process.
Marine and Water management
Our sensors are essential in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and environmental protection of marine and water management systems. By monitoring inclination they minimize risks and provide smooth and reliable operation, ensuring optimal performance, especially during dynamic-static transitions.
Production Machinery
It doesn’t matter if you use large industrial machines or precision instruments, sensors in production machinery are always needed! Our reliable sensor solutions help your machinery in alignment, orientation and safety monitoring. Thanks to our in-house manufacturing, we can design and produce sensors that are customized to meet your specific needs.
Agricultural Vehicles
Sensors in agricultural vehicles are everywhere. Our robust sensors can withstand the harshest environments. They can be used to control and monitor the positioning of equipment attached to the vehicle, such as seeders, plows, or sprayers.
Medical Appliances
Our sensors meet the perfect requirements to measure the angular position of, for example, MRI, CT-scanners or mobile operation chairs. This ensures safety for the staff and patient!
Sustainable Energy
Sensors play an important role in optimizing sustainable energy. For example, acceleration sensors are useful for monitoring vibrations in wind turbines. While inclinometers are used to ensure the right alignment for solar panels.
Construction Machinery
Our sensors give accurate position feedback, ensure stability and enhance safety in tough environments. For example on cranes, excavators, bulldozers, dumpers and loaders.
Rotero Holding
DIS Sensors is a production company which is part of Rotero Holding. The holding consists of 5 independent operating companies, each specialized in a different range of products and with their own customers. Through mutual cooperation we can call in experts of all areas, leading to better results for our clients.
We have experts in:
- Smart sensor solutions
- Motion control & robotica
- Industrial design, development & production
