We believe the best solutions come from strong collaboration. Not just with our end customers, but especially with our distributors. As a sensor developer and manufacturer, we provide the technology and expertise—while our distributors bring in-depth market knowledge, a strong understanding of customer needs, and the ability to ask the right questions that get to the core of any measurement challenge.

But how do we arrive at the right sensor solution—together? The answer lies in curiosity, collaboration, and most importantly: asking the right questions. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the kinds of questions we explore with our distributors and customers to ensure the best possible outcome.

It All Starts With Understanding the Application

No two measurement tasks are the same. That’s why it’s important our distributors—closely supported by us—accurately assess what the customer truly needs. Is the goal to measure tilt, acceleration, or rotation? Is it a static application or does the sensor need to perform in a dynamic environment with movement and vibration? And perhaps the most critical question: what exactly does the customer want to monitor or control using the sensor?

It may seem like an obvious step, but by diving deeper into these questions, we often uncover new insights that lead to better, more reliable solutions.

Technical and Commercial Parameters Go Hand in Hand

Beyond the technical requirements, commercial factors also play an important role. Is this a one-time order or a recurring series production? What are the expected quantities, delivery timelines, budget, and packaging needs? Environmental conditions also need to be considered—ranging from extreme temperatures, moisture, and chemical exposure to shocks, EMC demands, or UV resistance. These details help determine the most suitable type of sensor and housing.

Our QG and QR sensor series offer a wide range of configuration options—from durable plastic housings to fully stainless-steel models. Thanks to this flexibility, we can deliver a perfect fit for nearly any application, as long as we work together to gather the right input.

Mechanical and Electrical Integration

Next, we focus on how the sensor will be integrated into the customer’s system. How much space is available? How will the sensor be mounted? What size screws are required? Is corrosion resistance important?

Electrical connections are equally critical. Does the customer need analog output or a digital bus like CANopen or CANbus? Are they using cables or connectors? What are the environmental demands for the wiring, such as UV resistance or movement?

Our distributors are key in answering these questions. They are close to the customer and can translate the requirements into the right specifications. From there, we ensure that every detail aligns—technically and practically.

Quality and Compliance

DIS Sensors is ISO 9001:2015 certified, meaning we work according to structured processes and are committed to continuous improvement. But in many projects, additional certifications or documentation may be required—such as CE markings, test reports, safety application certificates, or product labeling.

Together with our distributors, we determine which compliance and documentation requirements are necessary. This proactive approach avoids surprises and ensures a smooth development and delivery process.

Logistics and Long-Term Thinking

Sensor solutions go beyond the product itself—logistics matter too. What should the batch size be? What’s the preferred packaging? Should a safety stock be maintained?

By addressing these questions early on, we ensure that the technical solution we create is matched by a delivery process that meets customer expectations.

Why This Approach Works

This collaborative approach requires time, attention, and mutual commitment. But the results speak for themselves: satisfied end users, reliable sensor solutions, and long-term partnerships. Our distributors know their markets; we know our technology. By combining those strengths, and by not being afraid to ask the right questions, we arrive at the best possible result.

Leue x DIS Sensors

Since 2009, Leue Sensorics and DIS Sensors have worked closely together. What started as a search for a specific inclination sensor evolved into a strategic partnership for the sales of DIS products throughout Germany. Today, Leue Sensorics represents our sensor solutions across the entire German market.

According to Benjamin Dörge, manager at Leue Sensorics, the key to this successful collaboration is clear: open communication, mutual trust, and a shared drive for innovation. “We have close contact with every department at DIS Sensors—from R&D to sales and management. This enables us to find solutions quickly and speak the same language when working with customers.”
