This month, DIS Sensors earned the new ISO 9001:2015 certification and we are very proud of this! DIS Sensors received its first certificate in April 2000, where the focus was mainly on procedures and instructions. The new version of the standard, ISO 9001:2015, which replaces the ISO 9001:2008 certificate, has fewer requirements and emphasises the organisation's performance.
ISO 9001 is an international standard that imposes requirements on an organisation's quality management system. The focus is on client satisfaction and the resulting quality assurance and ongoing improvement. If, as an organisation, you want to be eligible for certification, the point of departure is that you must say what you do and do what you say and be able to prove your actions. At DIS Sensors, we keep this in mind at all times. ‘DIS Sensors has an effective quality management system that is fully embedded in the organisation. The described and implemented management system complies with the requirements of the reference standard’ as per the independent auditor's report.
The new ISO 9001:2015 certificate has undergone several changes compared to the ISO 9001:2008 certificate. Whilst the old standard was still fairly prescriptive, ISO 9001:2015 asks you to look at who you are as an organisation. What added value do you provide to your environment and what are the business risks?
The most important changes in a nutshell:
The new certificate is valid for a period of three years. We undergo an annual (internal and external) assessment to see if we meet the requirements of the standard.
