An inclination sensor measures the angle with respect to a horizontal position, with an imaginary line from the centre of the earth serving as a reference. It can be mounted anywhere and offers great flexibility in mechanical design. An inclination sensor is used in situations where accurate positioning or constant monitoring of the angle in relation to gravitational pull is essential. With an accuracy up to 0.02° these sensors are perfectly suitable for monitoring the (angular) position of the horizontal axis of photovoltaic and parabolic systems.

To make sure elevator doors can be controlled throughout the complete open-closed cycle you can use the absolute and incremental encoders of DIS Sensors. With an absolute rotary encoder it becomes possible to control the door speed to be slowed in time and also detect if there are obstructions along the cycle.
Absolute encoders give an analog output which is linear with the angle of rotation, up to 360°. After switching on the power the sensor knows directly in which position it is located.
Incremental encoders can be used for multi-turn applications.
