An inclination sensor measures the angle with respect to a horizontal position, with an imaginary line from the centre of the earth serving as a reference. It can be mounted anywhere and offers great flexibility in mechanical design. This combination makes DIS Sensors inclinometers an excellent choice for tilt monitoring of, for example, fork/ scissor lifts and aerial work platforms.

Mobile machines

Concrete pumps
Concrete pumps contain long boom extensions which often have to reach over long distances or (high) obstacles. The primary concern of working safely with concrete pumps is to situate the truck correctly. The inclination sensors of DIS Sensors can be used to continuously monitor the exact position of the boom to guarantee stability.

Cranes
Cranes are used in a wide variety of industries to move heavy and oversized objects. Working safely is of top priority when using cranes and tilt monitoring is essential. With an accuracy up to 0.02° our inclinometers are a perfect fit for this job.

Wind turbines
DIS Sensors acceleration sensors can measure fast movements which makes them perfect to monitor maximum vibrations of wind turbines and to prevent damage. For safety applications DIS can provide redundant versions.

Photovoltaic and parabolic through systems
An inclination sensor is used in situations where accurate positioning or constant monitoring of the angle in relation to gravitational pull is essential. With an accuracy up to 0.02° these sensors are perfectly suitable for monitoring the (angular) position of the horizontal axis of photovoltaic and parabolic systems.

 

 

Medical appliances

DIS Sensors inclination sensors perfectly meet the requirements of the medical industry to measure accurately the angular position of, for example, MRI or CT scanners and mobile operation chairs.

Harsh environments

Also for applications in mining and drilling the robust DIS Sensors inclination sensors can be used. Drill machines have to perform under severe conditions in which correct information about levelling and position is indispensable.

Oil and Gas

Blowout preventer (BOP) systems play an important role by monitoring the pressure and flow of oil and gas in offshore drilling which make them essential within this application. For accurate levelling of these BOP systems we recommend DIS Sensors inclinometers.

 

Elevators

To make sure elevator doors can be controlled throughout the complete open-closed cycle you can use the absolute and incremental encoders of DIS Sensors. With an absolute rotary encoder it becomes possible to control the door speed to be slowed in time and also detect if there are obstructions along the cycle.
Absolute encoders give an analog output which is linear with the angle of rotation, up to 360°. After switching on the power the sensor knows directly in which position it is located.

Incremental encoders can be used for multi-turn applications.
