DIS Sensors SIL2/PLd SAFETY inclinometer recertified

DIS Sensors is pleased to announce the recent Notified Body recertification of our successful SIL2/PLd Safety inclinometer family of sensors, which was developed entirely in-house. 

In 2016, DIS sensors was one of the first sensor producers to launch an inclinometer with integrated safety features up to SIL2 / PLd functional safety level, and certified by a Notified Body. Of course, being first to have a certificate with 5 years validity also means we are among the first when the certificate expires…

Considering the success and widespread use of this line of safety sensors, DIS sensors decided to initiate recertification by a Notified Body. Having passed all the necessary tests, the sensor has recently been recertified and is now completely up-to-date for the next 5 years.

Moreover, the certificate has been upgraded to a higher safety architecture level (the certificate now states HFT=1). With various industrial safety application standards requiring a specific functional safety architecture level in addition to the SIL / PL level, the DIS sensors inclinometer is now even suitable for industrial applications with more stringent requirements.

Summary:

Inclinometers are electronic spirit level sensors. This type of sensor is ideal for monitoring the angle of machine components such as the platform or boom of a mobile crane. With the increasingly strict safety standards for mobile machinery, the safety inclinometer is an ideal alternative for the use of expensive redundant sensors.
